Blood and Treasure Season 2: Paget Brewster On Board, Delayed Release Date!

CBS’s action-adventure Blood and Treasure released in May 2019. The network has also renewed the show for Blood and Treasure Season 2. The show, created by Federman and Scaia, follows a brilliant antique expert who partners with a cunning art thief to take down a terrorist who funds his attacks using stolen treasure. As they get through the world hunting the man, they find themselves at the center of a 2000-year-old battle in the cradle of civilization. Now that Blood and Treasure Season 2 is coming, here are all the details about it-  

Blood and Treasure season 2: Renewal Status

In a statement, Amy Reisenbach, The EVP of Current Programs at CBS, said that Blood & Treasure is a fun adventure. It has comedic elements filmed in many locations around the world. It has been a great performer and a wonderful addition to the summer schedule. 

CBS renewed Blood and Treasure Season 2 in June 2019. The good news came after the fifth episode of the first season aired. The news overjoyed the fans of the show. Amy Reisenbach revealed that they have also heard the story pitch for the second season, and they are looking forward to seeing the show going to Russia to Southeast Asia. 

How Was The First Season Received? 

The first season of the show bagged fair reviews. Rotten Tomatoes rated the show 50% with an average of 5.75/10 based on 12 reviews on a review aggregation. The critics’ consensus reviewed the first season of the show as it does not find the X that point on the very sweet spot. Viewers who are looking forward to an undemanding call to adventure would find the series really charming. Metacritic rated the show with 52 out of 100, taking into account the seven critics and hinted that the show got mixed or average reviews. With all this said, the renewal news was really great news for the viewers. 

Everybody In The House For Season 2

The show features Matt Barr and Sofia Pernas. It also includes Michale James Shaw, James Callis, Katia Winter, Alicia Coppola, Oded Fehr, and Mark Galiardi. All of them are expected to return for Blood and Treasure Season 2. However, it is expected that some new faces would be coming in for a second installment too. 

Paget Brewster On Board For Blood and Treasure Season 2

Paget Brewster from Criminal Minds would be joining Blood and Treasure Season 2 for a recurring role. Brewster is coming in to play a resourceful nun in Rome with a light sense of humor. She will play Sister Lisa, who is a good friend with Father Chuck Donnelly. While Father Chuck is on the run with the whole mystery, he comes to Sister Lisa for information. He knows that the Nuns are the ears and eyes of Churches, and he would get some information. Brewster was last seen in the fifteenth and the final season of Criminal Minds. She was also a part of Mom & Ryan Murphy’s Hollywood. 

Blood and Treasure Season 2: Delayed Release Date

The show was renewed for Blood and Treasure Season 2 in July 2019. Everybody expected the show to return in the Summer of 2020, but it looks like the show will be delayed. The show isn’t 100% complete at the moment. Matthew Federman used his twitter to update everyone that isn’t complete, and they will come back to complete the show when everything is safe. The show will face many new challenges because of the international locations. 

Of course, CBS could release the show in parts, but that will come in with some problems too. For example, the script wasn’t made for a two-part season? Also, CBS is eager to save the series for as long as they can and give it a prime time night slot. We will update the show as soon as we get any information. So you stay tuned.
