Dear White People Season 4 is returning with a pitch-perfect vow- “Sometimes the only way to move forward is to throw it back” while paying homage to the 90s era. Based on Justin Simien’s 2014 film of the same name, it follows a group of Black students at Ivy League school who frequently points out the issues generally ignored by white peers, such as racism and police brutality. Meanwhile, debating on several women’s rights, sexuality, and sexual assault.

Since Dear White People aired, the series has received enormous love and a devoted fanbase for its queer storyline. It even garnered a few awards nominations for its outstanding performance. A few days ago, Netflix dropped a short teaser featuring the cast grooving on the singer Montell Jordan’s song. Although it didn’t tease much about season 4, yet it confirmed that it would be the musical season. Now finally, Netflix has dropped the official trailer. That sheds more light on how the show creator will give farewell to its highly-acclaimed series. The trailer opens up with Samantha White and her group’s senior year at Winchester University giving homage to the 90s musical.

As per the several years old tradition, the senior student creates a satirical musical about their school. That will cover many classics hit from the golden era. While bringing Jordan’s hit “This Is How We Do It,” En Vogue’s “Free Your Mind,” Johnny Gill’s “Rub You The Right Way,” and more back to life. But most importantly, for the first time, Black students of Armstrong-Parker house are in charge of writing the show, led by Troy. However, not everyone will be onboard.

Will Explore Post-Pandemic World

The final season delves more into the 90s era, where the Winchester students would look back in time. But it would also follow some flash-forward scenes in the not-so-distant post-pandemic world. As it would explore the characters’ life after graduation and how things have changed since then.

Well, it seems Samantha and her friends have already moved forward. As the book in her hand, written by Lionel Higgins, says it all. But perhaps Lionel needs to travel back to his graduation days to find the answers he’s been chasing.

Dear White People Season 4: Who Will Be In The Cast?

Logan Browning will once again reprise her role Samantha White for the final run. Besides her, Brandon P. Bell as Troy Fairbanks, DeRon Horton as Lionel Higgins, and Antoinette Robertson as Colandrea “Coco” Conners will also return.

In addition, John Patrick Amedori as Gabe Mitchell, Ashley Blaine Featherson as Joelle Brooks, and Marque Richardson as Reggie Green will return as well. Well, season 3 aired back in August 2019, and fans have been eagerly waiting for this season for a long time. Well, the show suffered plenty of delays due to the pandemic. But fortunately, it’s finally returned.
