The previous episode began with Sang Zhi receiving a gift from Duan Jiaxu, and after unpacking, she discovered that it was a camera and also had a selfie of him. To this, she called him a shameless and scheming old man. But she later wondered that she might be in a relationship and informed the same to Sang Yan, who immediately scolded her and warned her to study hard. On the other hand, Ning Wei told Sang Zhi to think clearly before making any decision, and if she was unsure about her relationship with Duan Jiaxu, then it was better to test him. Meanwhile, Duan Jiaxu was missing her, so he called her to ask whether she was free tomorrow. But before she could answer, Ning Wei picked up the call and said, “No.”
Panicked Duan Jiaxu, then sought his colleague’s help and later learned that Sang Zhi was testing him. So he called her again and asked for Thursday night. Finally, she said “Yes,” but Duan Jiaxu turned down their dinner date as something urgent came up. It wasn’t the first time he did that, so her roommates complained about Duan’s behavior. But in reality, he went to see his father, who was in a nursing home in a vegetative state. Well, a few years ago, his father met with a gruesome accident that had spiraled Duan’s world.
