The villagers learned that Yeong Ok had a twin sister with Down Syndrome. She had been earning money to take care of her sister. While Jeong Jun and his family learned this, his love for Yeong Ok intensified. He decided to help her and start a relationship with her. Yeong Ok hadn’t felt this way for ages.
Jeong Jun’s behavior made her believe that he could be trusted and that they could restart their relationship. His parents also approved of their relationship. She was moved to tears, leading to their happily ever after. Meanwhile, Ok Dong and Dong Seok, the mother-son duo, finally lived their happiest moment. Ok Dong’s eldest daughter and husband died at sea. In a moment of desperation, she decided to move in with a man as his mistress.
This dents her relationship with Dong Seok, as the latter is treated poorly by Ok Dong’s second husband’s sons. While the childhood trauma made things problematic for Dong Seok, he started taking care of his mother after she had a terminal illness. This allowed them to open up about their struggles. After initial hesitation, the duo ended things on a sweet note. Our Blues ending brought closure to each character’s story arc.
Will There Be Our Blues Season 2?
It doesn’t seem like it. The show has already been billed as “limited.” In addition, the first season concluded every character’s storyline. Dong Seok and Ok Dong finally came together. They held no grudges for each other. While Dong Seok only wishes to be accepted by Ok Dong, she dies in the end. This left Dong Seok heartbroken. Despite this, he was glad he managed to live with his mom in her final days.
Yeong Ok and Jeong Jun finally had their happily ever after. Since the first season beautifully concluded everyone’s story, there’s no point in extending the show. Thus, it doesn’t seem like we need Our Blues Season 2. However, if Netflix and TVN plan to return with another season, they might return with another star cast, leading to an anthology story arc.
