Unfortunately, not! The first season of Poacher debuted with a bang on February 23, 2024. It became the first Indian series on Amazon Prime Video that received tremendous praise worldwide. The series has not only been the most-watched show on the streaming platform but also had positive reviews from critics. Season 1 earned 7.7 stars out of 10 on IMDb and 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

This led many to believe that Poacher would have another season. However, Prime Video hasn’t yet renewed the series for the next season, Poacher Season 2. Typically, the streaming platform takes a couple of months to announce its decision. But seven months have passed, and the streaming platform has remained mum regarding the renewal announcement.

This made people concerned for the show’s fate. You don’t have to worry! That’s because the series partners Sean McKittrick and Raymond Mansfield recently shared their plans for Season 2. In an interview with Variety, McKittrick and Mansfield shared their plans for Season 2. McKittrick said, “Our intention is to have a [Poacher] Season 2.” McKittrick added that Poacher isn’t just a show for Asia and India.

They made the series for the whole world, so they intend to develop as many interesting original stories as possible by incorporating more real-life events. In addition, the series partners shared that they want to protect the story.

When Will Poacher Season 2 Filming Begin?

While McKittrick and Mansfield confirmed they hope to return with season 2, nothing is known about the second season. Poacher has yet to be renewed. However, the series partners shared that the show is being developed actively, which is a good sign that it will soon hit our screens. But there’s a catch! The duo hasn’t yet shared the production details.

So, Poacher Season 2’s production details remain unclear. It’s hard to guess which phase the series is currently in. The production takes six to seven months, as the show is based on true events. Barker’s upcoming erotic thriller novel, “Behind a Closed Door.” QC is also working on a TV adaptation of Chuck Wending’s novel “Wanderers,” and is actively seeking a director for the show. Poacher Season 2 Cast: Who Will Return?

If the show returns with another season and delves into the dense woods of Kerala and Delhi, then we believe the first season’s cast members will return. These include Roshan Mathew as Alan Joseph, Dibyendu Bhattacharya as Neel Banerjee, and Kani Kusruti as DFO Dina. Nimisha Sajayan will join the series as Mala Jogi, Ankith Madhav as Vijay Babu, and Ranjitha Menon as Achala Joesph.

We can also see Maala Parvathi return as Roshni, Mala’s mother. The other cast members who can join the series are Denzil Smith as Nilesh Sharma, Vinod Sharawat as Kishore Kumar, and Hannah Reji Koshy as Abilasha. In addition, Noorudheen Ali Ahmed as Raaz, Sooraj Pops as Aruku, Zhinz Shan as Yadu, and Praveen T.J. as Poyya can also return.

The other cast members who can return are Amal Rajdeev as Morris Finn and Arjun Radhakrishnan Ambat as Forest Officer Krishna. The show could return with more new cast members, and some more forest officers could join the series for Poacher Season 2. However, nothing is known to this date.

The team hasn’t yet revealed which animal the second season will focus on. However, the series creator shared that they are working on Season 2. He said Poacher is a global phenomenon, and they are researching their second season’s subject.

So far, he has researched that every single person and everything has ties to different countries. Richie Mehta added that they figured out that the wildlife crime operations aren’t just taking place in India; they have multiple ties to other countries, so they have a lot of data to cover in Poacher Season 2. The story won’t only be residing in India. Mehta confirmed that the next season can be anywhere and everywhere, exploring the other sides of wildlife crime.
