Is Outlast Season 3 Renewed?

Netflix released Outlast Season 2 on September 4, 2024, with a bang. However, the streaming platform only dropped the first batch of episodes, while the second batch premiered the following week, September 11, 2024. Despite releasing the series in two parts, the show performed well on the streaming platform. Shortly after its debut, it became one of the most-watched survival series on the platform. In fact, it remained on Netflix’s Global Top Ten for two weeks.

The series secured its position in the top ten in 22 countries. While the series remained in the global top ten for two weeks in the United States, it was most loved in the Czech Republic, remaining in the top ten for three weeks. That’s not all! The show outpowered its first season. The first season of Outlast remained in the global top ten for just one week in 27 countries. This suggests that the sophomore run performed well.

In addition, Netflix’s Outlast Season 2 gained 80% positive ratings on Rotten Tomatoes and 5.2 stars out of 10 on IMDb. This incredible performance hints that the show can return. Typically, the streaming platform takes a couple of months to review the viewership count. In fact, Netflix renewed the second season just two months after the first season wrapped up airing. Outlast Season 3 Cast: Who Will Join The Show?

The production committee announced the casting call to select people with firm determination and strength. So, people who can deal with great challenges can join the show. Since the team has yet to share who will join, it’s tricky to announce the casting list.

However, sometimes, cast members from the previous season can also return. In the previous season, Bayardo “Bayo” Hernandez, Zach Owens, and Julio Laboy joined the series. However, they left due to certain circumstances. The other cast members include Meghan Buchanan, Sammy Norris, Tonia Willman, Emily Johnston, Deontre “Tre” Thomas, and Bri Walston.

In addition, there can’t be more than four teams. So, if the person remains without a team, they must convince the other members to select them in order to avoid elimination. The rules are quite simple, and everyone should follow them.

Throughout the season, the team members deal with several challenges while navigating to find food for them. If the streaming giant returns with Outlast Season 3, it will definitely focus on new team members, their skills, and how they deal with the upcoming challenges. Since Netflix is working on making the challenges more complex, we expect the third season will be more intense.

Will Outlast Return Alaska?

Netflix’s Outlast is known for filming the survival series in Alaska. The first season was filmed near the Neka River, on the Chichagof Island, west of Juneau. Meanwhile, the second show was filmed at Little Duncan Bay, south of Petersburg, Alaska. Since the show has never been filmed in the same location, the streaming giant is expected to return to a different location in Alaska.

On the other hand, the production house and showrunner have yet to share any updates. Thus, it remains unclear when Outlast will undergo production. However, if everything goes smoothly and the streaming giant renews the show for the next season this year, filming will begin in early 2025.
