In addition, Beef climbed to the No. 2 spot with 70.38M watch hours during the April 10-16 viewing window. Well, it was more than the debut week’s figure. Creator Talked About Beef Season 2
While Netflix has yet to make an announcement, Lee told ELLE in 2023 that there is more to come in Beef. He said he pitched the series as a limited anthology so the show could return with an all-new storyline and characters. That means Danny and Amy from the first season won’t return.
However, Lee said that if he had been allowed to explore their storyline, he could return with these two characters. He loves those characters and can return with them for three seasons. Jin added that he had many ideas for continuing with Amy and Danny. He also believed that Netflix should return with these two characters to continue their storyline for two more seasons.
Since he has already mapped the show to run for three seasons, this will ultimately turn out to be a silver lining, suggesting there can be Beef Season 2. But he had designed their first season as a close-ended narrative. Jin further told Deadline he would bring new characters for Beef Season 2. Back then, he shared that there were no plans for the series.
Whether it would return as a limited series or an anthology remained unclear. However, he is definitely ready to return with Season 2 of Beef. Jin revealed that he would love to explore the popular anthology narratives of series like The White Lotus and True Detective.
Beef Season 2 Cast Details
After the series creator and executive producer Lee Sung Jin accepted Sunday’s Spirit Awards for the limited series, he shared that he was in talks with some actors for the second season of Beef. Surprisingly, he has spilled the tea on the latest cast details of Beef Season 2. He shared that Ali Wong and Steven Yeun won’t return to reprise their roles as Danny and Amy in the second season. Instead, the next season will return with some new cast members. As per the reports, Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway were in talks about joining Beef.
But after months of talk, the reports suggest that the plans to cast Hathaway and Gyllenhaal have been dropped. Instead of them, Moon Knight fame Oscar Isaac and three-time Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan are all set to join the show. They have been in talks about joining the series lead couple. As of now, neither Mulligan nor Isaac have signed on the second season of Beef. Apart from them, the other lead cast members will be Charles Melton and Cailee Spaeny.

What Will Happen In Beef Season 2?
Although Netflix has not shared anything about Beef Season 2, we do know the series will take an anthology approach. Instead of continuing with Amy and Danny’s storyline, the second season will focus on the bitterness and feuds between the two couples. As per the reports, a pair of couples will indulge in beef in the same way that the pilot season’s characters did.
In the finale, Amy and Danny attacked each other, and the former forced Danny at gunpoint to search for food. Due to hunger, they accidently consumed poisonous berries, which made them sick. Since believing themselves to be dying, they confronted each other and learned about their respective sadness. But fortunately, they survived and returned to their city.
After receiving their phones, Danny discovered that Paul was alive but didn’t want to speak to him. Meanwhile, Amy collapsed due to dehydration. While Danny approached to help her, George shot him, believing he was a foe. Amy later took him to the hospital and helped him recover. The first season ended with Amy and Danny wrapping up their beef.
