Since AT&T Audience Network shut down, Loudermilk’s future remains in the air. However, the wait seems to be over. That’s because the creator, Peter Farrelly, recently opened up about his plans for Loudermilk Season 4. Finally, after four years of waiting, we have much-anticipated news for the series fans. Does that mean the series is on the cards? Well, the fans are holding their breath to learn how Sam Loudermilk will return with another banger season. We have a pleasant surprise for you. Hence, to deal with alcoholism, Sam started a substance abuse support group and helped others who suffered from the same problem. However, his acid-tongued created problems for others. The entire series surrounded Sam dealing with the abuse and taking a counseling session to get his life on track. In order to get it, his best friend and sober sponsor, Ben Burns, and his sponsee, Claire Wilkes, helped him.
Loudermilk Season 4: Renewed Or Canceled?
Although Loudermilk Season 3 aired on December 31, 2020, fans remained disappointed after neither the creator nor the streaming platform said anything about the series’ future. While fans waited for future installments, they received disappointing news. AT&T decided to shut down its network Audience to focus on its new streaming platform, HBO Max.
That eventually left Loudermilk’s fate up in the air, leaving the series without homes. However, the series wasn’t canceled in the traditional way. That means there’s hope for Loudermilk Season 4. But wait. Farrelly’s series Loudermilk had yet to complete its third season when the network was shut down. Surprisingly, Prime Video picked up the distribution rights of the series and gave it a platform to air the third season.
The streaming platform also aired Seasons 1 and 2 on its platform, which quickly allowed the series to gain a decent fandom. Despite that, the show remained dormant on Prime Video. That’s because neither Prime Video announced Loudermilk Season 4 nor canceled the series. Thus, it remains unclear whether the series will return with another season.
However, the show has remained a critical hit, and the debut season received a 92% positive response from Rotten Tomatoes. In addition, the series also garnered 7.9% positive ratings on IMDb and 76% on Metacritic. Considering this, we expect that the series has a high chance of getting restored. But will Prime Video return with another season?
Will Loudermilk Season 4 Ever Return?
Despite Prime Video picking up the distribution rights, the streaming platform didn’t suggest whether Loudermilk would receive another season. While the series remained dormant for several years, there’s hope for Loudermilk fans. Netflix picked up the distribution rights for all three seasons of the series and aired the series in the US and Canada.
Despite being dormant for several years, the series quickly topped Netflix’s charts after its debut—the first season topped in nine countries: the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom, Austria, Canada, Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, and Ireland. Meanwhile, the second season remained in the Global Top Ten for two weeks in three countries: Canada, the United States, and Ireland.
However, the third season didn’t make it to the global charts. Thus, whether there’s a chance for Loudermilk Season 4 remains unclear. However, the streaming giant finally gave the series the right audience it needed, leaving them clamoring for more. But Netflix has only picked the series distribution rights, and it might not return with the fourth season.
That means that as of July 2024, Netflix removed Loudermilk from its streaming list. Does that mean Loudermilk Season 4 will never happen? Nothing can be said as of now. However, Netflix is known for picking several canceled network shows, so many believe it might also restore Loudermilk. However, the chances remain slim.
Creator Envisoned Three More Seasons
While Netflix has removed Loudermilk from its streaming list, the series creator, Peter Farrelly, is still optimistic about its future. In an interview with ComingSoon in March, Farrelly revealed that he believed they could return with two more seasons. The co-creator shared that they have mapped out seven seasons. However, it’s challenging for them to deal with the production cost and return with Loudermilk Season 4. But they were hopeful Netflix might give them another chance to return with the series.
Creator Teases Loudermilk Season 4 Plot Details
In an interview with Deadline, the co-creator explained the plans for Loudermilk Season 4. The series will pick up three or four years later when Sam returns with his book. His book will be a huge hit, putting Sam on top of his game again. However, things are more challenging than they seem. While Sam is living a luxurious life and enjoying the inner circles of celebrities, he has to decide which way he wants to go.
He has yet to pick one side: the celebrity circle or his addiction support group. Farrelly reveals that Sam will have lunch with Niel Young and will wonder how to make it work. Meanwhile, Sam Loudermilk will face some tough times dealing with his stardom.
He will meet Larry Sanders, some real celebrities, and rock stars, making the entire situation fun. While the situation seems tense, Sam will soon find a way to balance both worlds. The co-creator also shared that they wish Netflix would pick it up. If the series returns with a home, they can explore more stories surrounding Sam.
Loudermilk Season 4: Cast Details
If the series returns in another season, we can expect all core members to return. These include Ron Livingston as Sam Loudermilk, Anja Savcic as Claire Wilkes, and Will Sasso as Ben Burns. The other cast members include Brian Regan as Winston “Mugsy” Bennigan, Timothy Webber as Ed, Ricky Blitt as New Guy (Hiram), and Viv Leacock as Stevie. Loudermilk Season 4: Release Date
As of now, the series has no home to return. Although Netflix returned with Loudermilk, it has removed the series from its streaming platform. This has left fans wondering whether the show will ever return. However, the series creator is still optimistic and might return with Loudermilk Season 4 on some other platform. Nothing is known at this moment. But we expect the fourth season will return sometime in the future if it gets restored. This is all for now. Stay tuned. TechRadar247 will keep you updated.
