OWN’s coming-of-age drama, David Makes Man Season 2, has finally returned last week after a 20-month long break. Recently, the series showrunner Michael B. Jordan talked about the decade-time jump and its impact on David’s life. As of now, David is dealing with his personal and professional chaos, and now he’s no longer a teenage boy. But Kwane Patterson teased that David’s childhood trauma will haunt him in the following installment.

David Makes Man is a coming-of-age drama created by Tarell Alvin McCraney. The series debuted back in August 2019. It follows a young boy David who had a traumatic and abusive childhood. He’s still haunted by the death of his friend. But he decided to help her mother overcome poverty while navigating his life through an abusive school environment and neighbors.

The second season kick-started with a huge time jump where David is now in his early 30s dealing with the agony of the midlife crisis. However, he has all grown up and stepped up as the man of the house. And recently, the showrunner discussed their plan for this massive transition in David’s life. Michael B. Jordan said though David is completely grown up now yet he’s still dealing with a traumatic past. This season will explore how he tackles the trauma while moving ahead in his life.

Further, the series creator McCraney said they wanted to make sure that fans still remember the young boy David and how things are still the same in his life. Thus, the second episode, “Hurston,” explored David’s still using the same method to deal with the chaos as he used to do 15 years ago. Based on A Killing On Carnival Row, Amazon Prime’s Carnival Row is created by René Echevarria and Travis Beacham. It follows some mythical creatures who left their war-torn homeland. However, tensions are broiling between the growing immigrants and citizens of the city. At the center of this drama, a series of murder cases strings social adjustments, uneasy peace, and uncertain love.

Carnival Row Season 2: Has Production Begun?

Carnival Row Season 2 was renewed in July 2019, a month before the first season landed on the streaming platform. However, in the wake of COVID-19, the series had received plenty of setbacks, resulting in extended delays in filming. Production on the second season began in November 2019. But it halted in March 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic.

However, when the production team commenced preparations to resume filming in the first week of May, Amazon had yet to announce the resumption of the series. Soon it was reported that the series was only three weeks away to wrap up. Production resumed in May 2021 in the Czech Republic to wrap up the remaining scenes. Eventually, it didn’t take much time to conclude the filming. However, it would take some more time to wrap the post-production.

Carnival Row Season 2: Who Will Be In The Cast?

The majority of the cast is most likely to return. These include Orlando Bloom as Rycroft Philostrate “Philo” and Cara Delevingne as Vignette Stonemoss. In addition, David Gyasi as Agreus Astrayon will return with Tamzin Merchant as Imogen Spurnrose. Besides, Andrew Gower as Ezra Spurnrose, Arty Froushan as Jonah Breakspear, and Karla Crome as Tourmaline Larou will also return.

However, deeming how things concluded in the first season, apparently, we won’t see Indira Varma as Piety Breakspear and Jared Harris as Absalom Breakspear. But, now that some of the characters left the city, it has left plenty of room for new characters. So, perhaps we could see some new faces in the second run.

Carnival Row Season 2: What To Expect?

Amazon hasn’t revealed the official synopsis of the second season. But deeming the closing moments of the first season, we will find more about segregation. As in the finale, the government ordered a segregation plan to separate the magical creatures from the rest of the people. However, Philo confronted that he too is half magical creature and decided to join Vignette in the ghetto.

Thus, it would explore Philo and Vignette’s life in the ghetto and what happened to the magical creatures in the past. Elsewhere, Agreus and Imogen sailed to a safe place in the final moments of the first season. However, they refused to return when the authorities ordered their ship back. Thus, it remains unclear how things would move in Imogen and Agreus’ life. Are they safe? There’s a slight possibility that someone might follow them on their path.

Carnival Row Season 2: When Will It Release?

As of now, Amazon Prime Video hasn’t announced the release of Carnival Row Season 2. However, the first season took almost 17 months to land on the network after wrapping up the filming. Thus, if Carnival Season 2 follows the same pattern, we can expect that Carnival Row Season 2 will air in early 2022. So, stay tuned for more such updates.
