Production for the third season began in 2020 but was soon put on hold for a couple of weeks in December due to the ongoing health crisis. However, we learned that filming resumed back in April 2021, shortly confirmed by Pretty Little Things. The Twitter account shared a snap of Penn Badgley pushing a pram with a caption that reads, “You is back on set filming for You Season 3.”

Back in November, we received a vast cast announcement for the upcoming season. Well, the core cast members will indeed return. These include Penn Badgely as Joe Goldberg and his onscreen lover Victoria Pedretti as Love Quinn. Scott Speedman and Matthew will return with Travis Van Winkle as Cary and Shalita Grant as Sherry. Saffron Burrows as Dottie Quinn, Dylan Arnold as Theo, and Tati Gabrielle as Marienne will return.

Since every character has their story and still deals with it, the upcoming season would focus on their individual struggle. However, he ensured that this episode has nothing to do with the seventh book, An Echo in the Bone. He added that the upcoming season would follow a significant time jump. So there won’t be any threads connected to the fifth season finale.

Well, the primary campaign had a simple aim that the third season left with a cliffhanger, and fans need answers about what would happen in Anne’s life. As we saw, Anne left the Green Gable in the finale for her further studies. Meanwhile, her relationship with Gilbert Blythe has yet to explore as Anne was in a complicated relationship with Gilbert in the third season. So fans need some clarification, and the fourth season might clear everything well.

On November 2, two weeks after the show green light for the fourth season, the fans got to know that the production is underway. The entire crew and cast members returned to Toronto base to begin filming for the fourth season, which will continue until this June. However, due to the COVID-restriction, the show will use augmented reality LED screens to film the fourth season remotely.
