Well, despite its low popularity, the series still has a fanbase that demands Devils Line Season 2.

A large number of anime adaptations are solely produced to boost the sales of its source material. Hence, they’re rarely continued for more than one or two seasons (unless incredibly popular). In fact, these anime installments are intentionally ended with cliffhangers and do not get sequels. Using this trick, animation studios force fans to refer to the source material in order to know what happens next in the story. Well, people fear that this seems to be the case with Devils Line Season 2 as well.

However, the Devils Line anime adaptation did not do well in increasing the sales of its manga. The series barely got any attention and failed to do its primary task. Yet, fans of the show find it hard to accept. Followers counter that anime worse that Devils Line have been given opportunities in the past. One of the main obstacles that stands between the renewal of an anime adaptation is the amount of source material available. The Devils Line manga series began serializing in September 2013 and is still in continuation. Fourteen volumes of the manga have already released as of last year, and Volume 15 might hit the market anytime soon. The first season of its anime adaptation barely covered a few of all the manga volumes. Hence, there’s more than enough source material to create several future installments of the show.

In 2018, Liden Films released the first anime adaptation of the manga series. The television anime became immensely popular amongst youngsters and was praised by the audiences. It aired between January and March 2018 and ended on an unsettling cliffhanger.

Killing Bites Season 2: Renewal Updates!

As of now, Liden Films has not announced the renewal of the highly-anticipated sequel. However, chances for its return are still pretty high. The seinen anime is immensely popular amongst young adults and is currently in high demand. Well, back in 2018, the studio didn’t have enough manga volumes to create another season. Hence, the lack of source material stood as an obstacle in Killing Bites Season 2’s renewal.

The debut season of the show contained twelve episodes that ended up consuming the plot of six manga volumes. Around its conclusion in 2018, the manga series was only up to Volume 10. Hence, the studio required a few more books to produce Killing Bites Season 2. Mangaka Shinya Murata writes almost two volumes per year. As of now, fifteen volumes of the series have already released, and Volume 16 might hit the market anytime soon. Therefore, Liden Films now has more than enough source material for the sequel.

Well, looking at the popularity of the series, Liden Films must already be interested in bringing the anime back. However, the studio is not particularly known for creating sequel (aside from a few exceptions). Moreover, the company already has a schedule for the upcoming years. Several shows, including a spin of the incredibly famous anime Cells At Work! are set to release in 2020 and 2021. Sadly, Killing Bites Season 2 is not part of the list. Yet, if its demand goes out of hand, the studio might give it another chance anytime soon.

As per the expectations, Killing Bites Season 2 is likely to continue the manga’s plot from Volume 7. The author of the series Shinya Murata has previously stated that the first six volumes only showed the characters’ background stories. Hence, the real story will now begin with the seventh book.

The plot will proceed to two years after the shock of the Destroyal. Relaxed hybridization or beast surgery has been legalized with the help of Zaibatsu’s influence. A special zone had been created for hybrids, and people are empathetic about the Killing Bites. Even after all these years, the story managed to impress millions of viewers, including millennials and boomers. As of now, we’re all expecting to watch more of the classic storyline. Dororo’s History!

The Dororo franchise was originally conceived as a manga series back in the late 1960s. Writer and illustrator Osamu Tezuka gained much popularity for his creation. However, the manga series couldn’t run for long and was canceled within a year of its debut. In 1969, its anime adaptation became one of the earliest anime in history. Even after years of conclusion, the storyline still appealed to people and continued to be adapted in different forms.

More recently, the series returned as a 2004 video game called Blood Will Tell. This version didn’t do as much business as expected, yet its ending left an impression on all Dororo fans. After more than 50 years later, Studio MAPPA decided to give it another shot. The 2019 anime adaptation caught the eyes of many boomers while catering to the new generation. It began airing in January 2019 and continued for 24 episodes until June of the same year. Fans are now hopeful for Dororo Season 2 as well.

Dororo Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled?

Currently, MAPPA is yet to confirm whether Dororo Season 2 will make it to the screens or not. Well, honestly speaking, chances for its renewal are pretty grim. The new anime gave a satisfactory end to the main plot and also adapted its entire source material. Hence, in order to extend the story, the creators will have to write an original plotline for the sequel. None of the Dororo franchise adaptations have ever continued the plot after the end of the manga.

However, unlike all other adaptations of the series, the 2019 anime gave away a hint about Hyakkimaru’s future. In the finale episode, Biwamaru says that the lead character may have left on another journey. Hence, even though the main storyline of the anime has ended, Dororo Season 2 might focus on Hyakkimaru’s new journey after gaining all his body parts again. Thus, there’s still hope for the renewal of a new season.

Well, considering that MAPPA has no source material left to create the sequel, it has to depend on a new story. The studio will have to continue Hyakkimaru’s journey after taking his revenge and regaining all his body parts. On this new journey, the character is likely to walk the path of humanity. At this point, the story can go any way and explore Hyakkimaru’s brand-new life.

However, some fans on the internet anticipate that Dororo Season 2 might not be around Hyakkimaru’s life anymore. Speculations say that the sequel might shift its focus to the titular character, Dororo. Now that we know that Dororo was actually a girl, it’ll be interesting to know her side of the story. But, this is just speculation now, and MAPPA is yet to confirm it. Although, like all other fans, we hope that we get to watch the series from this new perspective.
