The Boys Season 5: Latest News
Eric Kripke is ready to return with the masterpiece series The Boys. While the series has remained one of the most loved shows ever on Amazon Prime, it’s nearing its end. But the streaming platform isn’t looking forward to the end of The Boys chapter. That’s why the streamer is ready to return with plenty of spinoff series. However, we have disappointing news for the fans. Though Prime Video is returning with more spinoffs, Kripke announced that he wouldn’t be a part of the spinoff series.
There’s no denying that he will return, but not as a showrunner. In an interview with Deadline, Kripke confirmed that he won’t be the day-to-day showrunner in the upcoming spinoffs. However, he will remain a part of the series. He will give notes on scripts and help everyone in crafting compelling storylines. He will be there to help them if they need him, but he won’t be available for the 24/7 grind. In addition, the fourth season’s premiere saw a 21% increase in viewership compared to the third season.
It shows that the series is highly popular, and there’s no denying that. Despite that, The Boys Season 4 faced a bit of controversy. The fourth season was centered on political themes, and since it aired ahead of the 2024 election, the finale was forced to undergo a name change. That was because of the attempted assassination of the former US president, Donald Trump.
