Reason Behind The Live Session
Marta Kauffman, co-creator of Grace And Frankie spoke to Deadline about why all the cast decided to go live. She explained: “While we’re sitting here afraid, unsure and isolated, we wanted to come together and do some good. All we have got is technology at our fingertips and time on our hands. So we decided to get benefit from both of those assets to raise money for Meals on Wheels, which brings food to food insecure and lonely seniors. Moreover, they are among our most vulnerable right now and need our help.”
She further revealed that Meals on Wheels website had crashed due to outrush of donations that it received when Grace And Frankie’s cast were reading for them. She said: “We’ve just heard the response was so great that we crashed the Meals on Wheels website.” Well, they got what they were looking for, and fortunately, everything falls in the right way.
