The Alienist Season 3: Although OTT platforms are dominating the industry, the popularity of period dramas depends upon the story and not much on networks. This is why TNT has become the subject of discussion ever since it enlisted a period drama to its broadcast list. Titled The Alienist, this series was dropped in 2018 and sparked off two successful seasons. It is known to address various issues like corruption, yellow journalism, and income inequality. However, with the trio of heroes and intriguing cases to solve, The Alienist is apparently capable of continuing for several installments.

But following the end of the first season, the drama was quickly renewed for a sophomore installment. So will it happen with its third run too? Well, lately, the period drama has begun appearing in the search results as fans are curious about The Alienist Season 3. Here’s what we know!

The American drama is based on the novel of the same name that was written in 1994. The sequel was announced on August 16, 2018, and it began airing on July 19, 2020. The most recent episode that fans have watched was unveiled in August 2020. Talking about the third season, no official words have come from the side of either makers or the network. TNT has yet to reveal whether it will order new episodes. Since an official announcement is in the pending status, the window for The Alienist Season 3 is still open. The Alienist Season 3 is likely to dive into a new novel by Caleb Carr. It might return with another territory and new investigative cases. The third novel in the series is titled Surrender, New York, and is set in the present-day city. So, this can be the possible source material for the potential season 3.

As for Yeon, he embarked on a journey to unearth the mystery behind the filming set. It appeared as a trap of which Yeon and Moo-Yeong weren’t aware. Soon they were greeted by a dozen of men who quickly charged an attack on them. In order to save their life, the pair killed each one by one. But the latter turned against Yeon after learning Hong-jo was missing. Now they needed to save her before she became Jang San-beom’s bride.

Speaking of the show, it revolves around the life of a vascular surgeon, Dr. Martin. After being troubled with an issue related to hemoglobin, he feared blood. Talking more about its journey, Phillipa commented that she felt like saying goodbye to Portwenn. She ended by mentioning the release of the tenth and the final season.

Well, a specific reason was not revealed by the team, but it seems like the main point lies in the story. According to a statement made by the star Clunes in 2020, the show might be tagged as terribly repetitive by the audience, which led to Doc Martin Season 11 cancelation. Thus it wouldn’t be a good idea to continue with the show, Clunes said. On the other hand, the most recent statement made by the actor concerning it was in January 2022. He wished that audience would feel the need for the decision and appreciate it.

During this process, they will meet many men who will charge them. So before finding the answers, Yeon and Moo-Yeong must settle the situation. However, Hong-jo summoned a mystical Mountain God sword to stop this mess and charged straight at the pair, forcing them to stop their fight.
