While the movie had a clear intention, a school teacher is under investigation for showing Disney’s animated movie Strange World to her class. Jenna Barbee, a school teacher at Hernando County’s Winding Waters K-8 school, caused a stir around the internet. Her video went viral on TikTok, where she opened up about her being under investigation by the Florida Department of Education for showing a Disney movie to her class. Barbee also said she was just trying to give the students a “brain break.”
And all the parents had signed a permission slip and allowed her to show PG-rated movies without objections to specific content. But one of the students was the daughter of a school board member, and the school board member was on a rampage to remove every form of representation from their schools. Despite the negative reviews and disappointing response, the team has expressed interest in developing a sequel. The first time when the audience received an update on it was in August 2009. Sony announced a follow-up, and so the formal statement confirmed the arrival of White Chicks 2. But due to some issues, the project was unexpectedly canceled from further development.
Again in April 2014, Marlon Wayans showed his interest in the sequel. After four years, it was confirmed that a follow-up movie was already in the works. Hence, it seemed like it would finally see the light of day, but then, it received no further updates. Over the years, co-writer and prominent cast member Marlon has repeatedly expressed his will to work on White Chicks 2. But it seems like the film’s fate is not ready to accept a second movie.
