The 100 is one of the most popular and critically acclaimed drama series. The show concluded its seventh installment earlier this year. The 100 is an American sci-fi post-apocalyptic drama TV series. Joose Rothenberg developed this show, based on Kass Morgan’s novel series of the same title. The show’s seventh installment concluded in September 2020, after airing the 100th overall episode of the series.

The 100 Season 8: Renewal Status 

The makers announced that the seventh installment of the series would be the last one even before its premiere. Despite that, after the conclusion of the seventh season, a lot of rumors started surfacing online that The 100 Season 8 is on the cards. But the officials debunked all those rumors and confirmed that the sci-fi drama has reached its conclusion, and they’re pretty satisfied with it. Therefore, they don’t have any intention to re-write the ending of this show.

Will There Be A Prequel Or A Spin-Off?

It seems like fans’ wish will be fulfilled but in a different way. They, unfortunately, won’t get The 100 Season 8, but they will certainly get a spin-off series. The boss of The CW, Mark Pedowitz, already stated that the much-awaited spin-off series is in the works. During the network’s press call, he said that “There are still discussions going on — it is not done in any way, shape, or form. The discussions are still happening.”

Whereas at the 2019 summer press tour of the Television Critics Association, Mark revealed that Jason has several ideas regarding the spin-off, and they’re thinking about them.

The 100 Season 7 Episode 8 also worked as the backdoor pilot for the prequel series. Jason Rothenberg will serve as its showrunner, and the untitled show will be set 97 years before the events of The 100. Therefore, fans don’t have to worry as they will soon get to see their favorite sci-fi drama in another form and world.

As previously mentioned, The 100 Season 8 is not happening. And instead of the eighth installment, the fans will get a spin-off series that is still in development. The second season hit Netflix in early October 2019. But, Netflix took more than usual time to decide the fate of the series. Cindy Holland, Netflix’s Original Content Former Head revealed that the renewal of any show is based on a combination of certain things. She said that when they invest in a particular series, they first look at the fans’ response. Including how many will show up to stream the show.

If they didn’t earn many viewers, they reconsider whether or not to invest in that show. Cindy added that indeed critical acclaim is also crucial. But they focus on stretching their investment. So they can ensure that they are investing in something good.

Audience Signed A Petition

Soon after the first season of Insatiable aired, the viewers signed a petition with more than 230,000 signatures calling to cancel the show. Many argued that the show could cause eating disorders. Some even said that it is promoting body shaming. But, it soon got renewed for the second run. On which Debby Ryan said that societal nick needs to be addressed. So all they just want is to portray it in their show.

She added that they wanted to convey that you don’t have to feel bad about how you look. Soon Milano said that in the show, they aren’t shaming Patty. Star Trek: Discovery cast recently joined the 55-Year Mission Star Trek convention where the actors teased that Star Trek: Discovery Season 4 will be different than ever. While the other actors wrapped their shooting, some are still teasing to return in a much bigger role this time. Star Trek: Discovery Season 4: Has Production Concluded?

Despite several delays, the fourth season production finally began last November and has begun wrapping up in recent weeks. However, the work is yet to finish for some actors. For example, on the Wednesday panel, Tara Rosling was called up for further shooting in Toronto. But, during the panel, she explained that COVID protocols were the main reason for this extended filming schedule.

Tara added that the entire cast and crew were tested thrice a week. As a result, they had to stay on their levels, which further slowed down the production. Additionally, the false-positive tests resulted in a couple of days shut down, resulting in delayed filming. Meanwhile, Oded Fehr confessed that it becomes tough to film when the show has been continuously pushed back. Even they had to quarantine themselves for two weeks in Toronto.

Cast Shares Some Memorable Moments

Despite those strict protocols affecting the shooting schedule, Mary Wiseman said it was a crazy experience finally meeting them in person. However, Blu del Barrio revealed that they received many complaints the entire time. The crew stopped them from talking and laughing when their mask was off. But when they look back and watch the fourth season, it reflects how the team manages to lift the show in such a vulnerable time. David Benjamin Tomlinson praised that the cast was incredible and best.

Introduced A New Technology

Finally, a new achievement in Discovery season 4 as they are now using AR Wall instead of green screens. So the state-of-the-art AR Wall allows the cast to perform their scenes in virtual sets. On which, Patrick Kwok-Choon said that AR Wall is the future, and it’s fantastic. It’s a game-changing element that bolsters them to create desirable scenes. Well, in the last season finale, Starfleet discovered another source of dilithium which hints at the possibility of another ship that can travel faster than any warp-capable ship.

Will Explore T’Rina And Saru Romance

Tara was introduced in the third season where she had small screentime. But now she is returning to play a much bigger role in the fourth season. She said that T’Rina would continue to explore her journey as a president. But a lot is going on in her life apart from the presidentship. On the other hand, Doug Jones teased that fans can expect a budding romance between Saru and T’Rina.

While Rick And Morty Season 5 is yet to wrap up airing its final episode, fans are already curious about Rick And Morty Season 6. Well, after a year-long hiatus, the series returned for its fifth run. Unfortunately, however, it seems fans have to wait for more to stream the sixth run while its fifth run finale is still put on a halt. The good news for fans, Rick And Morty, will definitely return for the sixth run. Back in 2018, Adult Swim ordered 70 new episodes of Rick And Morty over an undefined number of seasons. Altered Carbon Season 3: Renewal Status!

The streaming giant has never officially confessed why they canceled Altered Carbon Season 3. But the main reason behind its cancelation was Netflix’s viewership against the cost renewal review process. The VP of Netflix’s original content, Cindy Holland, described this process on several occasions. The very first thing they look out for is whether they are getting enough viewers to support the show’s cost or not. Cindy explained that they only invest after analyzing how much viewership they’re going to get.

The critical acclamation is important as well, but if they don’t receive the expected viewership, then they see no point in continuing the series. Altered Carbon is full of special and visual effects, and hence it is pretty costly to produce. Therefore, Netflix didn’t see any point in investing more money and stretching when viewers wouldn’t support its cost.
