The second season of Mindhunter released in 2019, and everybody loved it. While everyone was looking forward to more of the show, TVLine reported that Netflix had put Mindhunter Season 3 on hold indefinitely. So, we don’t know if the show would return or not. However, on the brighter side, we know that the show isn’t canceled.

The executive director of the show- David Fincher, is busy with his other projects. Actors Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv have been released from their contracts. Mindhunter Season 3: What’s Coming Up Next?

The first season of the show took us to the late 1970s, and the second season took us ten years later to the 1980s. So, for Mindhunter season 3, we can expect the creators to explore the mid-1980s. This indicates that we will get to see many serial killers from that time.

We might even get to see the BTK killer who has been a name on the bay in the first two seasons. However, he wasn’t related to any of the crimes, but now he might come into the light, as for what the source material hints. These events will continue to affect the storyline in Mindhunter season 3.

In an interview with Gold Derby, McCallany stated that Tench wants to become everything, and hence he is being pulled in different directions. He wants to be a good husband, father, but at the same time, he also wants to be a good detective. He wants to fulfill all his responsibilities. McCally has also hinted that they might completely reimagine the show in Mindhunter season 3. They might even change the location of the filming.

When Will The Show Release?

Given that the show is still on hold, we don’t know if we would even get Mindhunter Season 3 or not. Assuming that things go right and Netflix decides to move forward with the show, we can expect the team to start filming by the end of 2021. The first two seasons of the series took about eight months to film, so if the show starts filming by the end of 2021, the show might release sometime in 2022. However, according to the series creator Duffer Brothers, the filming date is still tentative and can reschedule depending on the circumstances.

Production Will Begin In Atlanta

After three months of being up in the air, the series will soon begin filming in Atlanta, Georgia. Last month, the state governor permitted the television shows and movies to begin production. According to Hollywood guidelines, the entire crew has to follow the governor’s health protocols and procedures.

Writers Announced Script Completion

Well, it seems the lockdown period was quite beneficial for the writers as they got plenty of time to work on scripts. And it also seems worthwhile for the series fans as they don’t have to wait a lot for their favorite show. In early June, the writers posted the complete piles of scripts in their post, mentioning the entire season. It means the writing part completed, and production is only left. Thus, it won’t take much time to finish filming.

Filming Finished For Two Episodes

In late May, Hira Koda, the stunt boss, confirmed that they have already filmed two episodes before the outburst of COVID-19. He added that they had finished two episodes before the pandemic hit the entire entertainment industry. Gaten Matarazzo is in unison of this news with Hira. He said they were in the middle of their filming and suddenly they postponed the filming for three months.

Gaten Has Shared His Eagerness To Return On Set

Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin) said he’s eager to go back to work. He added that he was waiting for so long to go back as soon as the restrictions end. Since the filming required seven to eight months, they don’t have enough time to spend idle. He added it would take more than half a year to wrap up their production. So, he can’t wait for more to resume his role.

Stranger Things Season 4: When To Expect?

As of now, Netflix has yet to announce the official release date of Stranger Things Season 4. Considering Gaten’s words, we can expect that the upcoming season would air somewhere in the middle of 2021. He revealed that Merus joined the Galactic Patrol to protect the universe from the evil guys like Moro. When Moro asks Goku about Merus, he will tell him that the angel has disappeared, and now he will beat Moro. Goku tells Moro this time he will battle like a Galactic Patrolman. Goku will fire up, unlock his true ultra instinct form, and then launch an attack on the evil wizard.
