For Life is a legal drama TV series. Hank Steinberg created this show for ABC. For Life Season 2: Renewed?

There is a piece of good news for the fans of this series. ABC renewed the show for its second season just two days after the inaugural season ended. The cast and crew of the show were very excited regarding the second season. The show will continue to challenge the legal system and depicts its flaws. The show creator, Hank Steinberg, shows his gratitude towards the whole cast and crew of the series. After the renewal, he said, “It has been a great honor working with Isaac Wright Jr. and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson to design a show that, through the prism of Isaac’s life in our broken wicked justice system, has been able to focus the racial inequality that bothers this country. The series’ renewal will allow us to continue to do that, and I am very thankful to Sony Pictures Television and ABC for all of their support.”

For Life Season 2: Release Date

Even after the early renewal of the series, the viewers might have to face the hiatus to watch the second season. The creators won’t be able to start working on the following installment because of the production shutdown. The fans can expect For Life Season 2 to premiere on ABC by the end of 2021.

In the new deal with Youtube & Sony Pictures, Netflix will get exclusive rights for Cobra Kai Season 3 along with non-exclusive rights for the first two seasons. Netflix competed with Hulu when the news came out that Sony Pictures was looking for a new streaming service for Kobra Kai Season 3. The leading contenders were shortlisted to Netflix and Hulu, but Netflix has a global reach, massive subscriber base, and passion for the material. Hence the deal was signed, and now Netflix is the new home for Cobra Kai Season 3 and more seasons to come. 

Why Did YouTube Cancel The Show?

After releasing the second season of the show, YouTube renewed Cobra Kai season 3 in April 2019. However, since sometimes, YouTube has been changing a lot of things. While they were committed to release the third season, the streaming platform notified Sony TV partners that they wouldn’t be able to renew Cobra Kai for a fourth installment. To secure the show’s future beyond the third season, Sony started shopping for an outlet that could order additional episodes of the series. 

After the news came out, many streaming giants were keenly interested in the show. One of the main reasons, along with the popularity, was the shortage of such a high end scripted program looking for a streaming outlet in such time when almost all Hollywood productions have paused. A finished season of the show with such a built-in audience could be a gem in this situation.

The creators of the show- Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg, reveal their excitement about moving to Netflix. In a statement, they stated that creating Cobra Kai was their dream coming true. They are thankful for everybody’s tireless dedication, including Jeff Frost, Jason Clodfelter, Chris Parnell, Karen Tatevosian. In the same statement, they thanked all other partners at Sony for finding them a new home. Now, they can continue the series and also explore new opportunities from The Karate Kid universe.

Lucifer Season 5: Release Date

Good news for the fans. Netflix announced that Lucifer Season 5 will premiere this August 21. But, this time, the series would be divided into two segments. Lucifer star Tom Ellis revealed that the first eight episodes will stream on the premiere day, while the other set of eight episodes will stream after an undefined break.

The Longest-Running Show

Earlier, Lucifer Season 5 was supposed to be the final season of the series. So, Netflix ordered eight more episodes to conclude the series. This additional six more hours is because of the fans’ passionate love and support for Lucifer. That brings Lucifer back to Netflix for its sixth season, after being canceled from its former network Fox. With 77 episodes through its five seasons, Lucifer becomes one of the longest-running Netflix original series.

Season two will have some of the elements from The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny. Lauren Hissrich says in an interview with The Wrap that there will be new witchers entering the second season. The new one will be Vesemir (Killing eve’s Kim Bodnia), Coen (Yasen Atour), Lambert (Paul Bullion), and Eskel (Thue Ersted). She added that the upcoming installment would show characters existing in the same timeline, opposing the controversial multiple timelines.

Different Than Previous Season

Season one of the show had characters existing in various timelines. The same will not happen in season two. The Witcher Season 2 will have only one timeline, where we get to go in flash-backs and flash-forwards. The same wouldn’t have been possible with a different set of timelines.
