The fans should better be ready with their teleporter guns because Rick and Morty Season 5 is on its way. And it will reach the audience sooner than they think. However, the creators are in the process of changing the release pattern of this animated series. The fans eagerly wait for the new episodes of this shoe whenever it goes on a break. Now, it is possible that the viewers don’t have to face a hiatus for the latest episodes.
Rick and Morty is an American adult animated sci-fi sitcom. Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon created this show for Adult Swim. The first season of this show made its debut on December 2, 2013. When the inaugural season finished in April 2014, it had already become everyone’s favorite. All the previous seasons of the series received a lot of praise from the critics. The first half of the fourth season got some mixed reviews, but the second half managed to overshadow it and win the hearts of the fans again.
Renewal Status Of The Fifth Season!
US Broadcaster, Adult Swim has ordered whooping 70 episodes of this critically acclaimed series after the third season. The fans already saw the ten episodes in the fourth season, and the remaining sixty episodes will air over an unspecified number of season. According to the cast and crew of the show, the fifth season of this show is already under progress as they don’t want the audience to wait for two years.
One of the voice-overs of the show, Sarah Chalke (Beth Smith), revealed some details of the fifth season. She said, “So, season 5, we haven’t read yet. They’re writing it already. As it stands, we are going to most likely hold off on recording until things settle down a bit in terms of when… you know, maybe if there was an option that we could possibly record… you know, when we could record back at the studio.”
Rick and Morty Season 5: New Monthly Release Pattern
The fans of the series always complained about how they have to wait for a long time to watch the new episodes of Rick and Morty. The creators already cleared that the production takes a lot of time, and they are only able to create one episode a month. Therefore they decided to change the release schedule of the animated series. They are working on releasing a new episode of the show every month without any mid-season breaks.
In a recent interview, Justin Roiland revealed about this new plan. He said, “I’ve been saying we should drop an episode each month, just make it a big event,” he revealed. I like the idea of thinking outside the box with how any show is delivered to the masses. If you do one a month, the show is still alive the whole year, and you’re even buying us all the time we need to be as good as they need to be.”
However, it is unclear whether the series will follow this new release pattern or not. On asking about it, Roiland said, “I believe if they have the full ten episodes, they’ll release them without a split, but I truly have no idea. That’s kind of a question that’s outside of my control. They do what they think is best for the show.”
