I Am Not Okay With This revolves around a 17-year old girl named Sydney Novak. The plotline navigates to the challenges faced by Sydney with respect to her high school and family. However, everything changes when she realizes that she possesses superpowers.

I Am Not Okay With This Season 2 Renewed By Netflix?

The streaming network released all seven episodes of the first installment on February 26, 2021. Netflix also renewed the second season in 2020, soon after the show’s debut. However, the pandemic affected the show’s plans gravely. Ultimately in August 2020, Netflix decided to pull the plug on I Am Not Okay With This Season 2. Thus, unfortunately, the show has officially been canceled. However, as the covid scarce clear, fans can expect the streaming giant to think about their decision.

Moreover, given the impressive response from the viewers, some other networks could pick up the show. After the renewal, the creators worked on the storyline’s development. Thus, if another network picks up the show, viewers can expect to see the second installment in the near future.

How Did The First Season End?

Sydney ended up exposing her superpowers after Brad stole her diary and read it aloud at the school dance. He read about Sydney’s feelings for Dina and her troubles at home. Sydney then lost her mind in anger and ended up blowing Brad’s head, which killed him instantly. She ended up running into the woods and climbing a watchtower. She saw a man appearing from the shadow who told her that everyone should be afraid of them.

Thus, the second episode would have revealed this mysterious man’s identity and how Sydney would be related to him. Moreover, the man could have helped Sydney control her powers and make the best use of them in I Am Not Okay With This Season 2.

Why Did Netflix Cancel The Show?

The unexpected production halts in Netflix’s schedule posed a great deal of chaos and cancelation. The uncertainty around filming dates, and the task of managing the cast along with unexpected budget increases, resulted in a cancelation. As per Netflix’s statement, they have made a difficult decision of not moving forward with the second installments of I Am Not Okay With This and The Society.

Show’s EP Shares His Experience And Expectations

The show’s EP Shawn Levy told ET that they were never promised future seasons. Jonathan, him, and the crew always looked to the show as a special and resonating piece of storytelling. The show builds up to mysterious undercurrents by the end of the first season when the identity of the stranger is still unknown. Thus, he was happy with what they have achieved and looked forward to the show’s future. Hence, we can expect to see a second season if an alternate network picks up the show.

Who Could Be The Cast Next Season?

The lead cast members expected to return are Sophia Lillis as Sydney Novak, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley Barber, Sofia Bryant as Dina, and Kathleen Rose Perkins as Maggie Novak. Moreover, Richard Ellis, David Theune, Zachary S, Williams, and Aidan Wojtak-Hissong are also expected to appear next season. Further, some new and recurring members are also expected to join the cast if I Am Not Okay With This Season 2 gets picked up.

I Am Not Okay With This Season 2: When Will It Return?

Unfortunately, Netflix has canceled the show following COVID delays. Thus, the second season will not be returning on Netflix. However, there is a slight possibility that another network could pick up the show. Thus, a tentative release date for I Am Not Okay With This Season 2 is not possible. So, be patient and keep returning for more informative new updates about your favorite TV shows.
