BBC One’s British crime drama series Shetland is based on Ann Cleeves’ acclaimed novel series. The show first premiered on the network in 2013 and turned out to be a hit. The show revolves around Jimmy Perez, a crime detective. Jimmy and his team investigate several crimes in Scotland’s Shetland Isles. What follows is a series of adventures, twists, turns, and revelations.

All this has the potential to irrevocably alter the face of the island community. The series is a wonderful blend of crime, thriller, and mystery set on a small island where things aren’t always what they appear to be.

David Kane creates the show for BBC One. Shetland is among the most loved British crime dramas. And has managed to maintain its loyal fanbase over the course of six seasons. The show has received critical acclaim for its intriguing storyline and has won several awards, including BAFTA. And since the sixth season concluded its run, we’re exploring the possibility of Shetland Season 7. So what are the chances?

Will There Be Shetland Season 7? 

We have some Good news for Shetland fans. The home network for the series, BBC One, announced the sixth and the seventh season of the crime drama altogether back in 2019. The network originally planned to release seasons 6 and 7 in 2020 and 2021, respectively. However, both of the seasons got delayed because of… you know already! The pandemic. 

The sixth season of Shetland aired in November 2021. And as far as Shetland Season 7 is concerned, according to reports, the season’s production has already started, and the filming is underway. If everything goes swiftly, the production will supposedly wrap up around April 2021.

So, considering the time required for post-production and marketing, we can expect BBC to premiere Shetland Season 7 in late 2022. However, this is just us speculating. Although nothing can be said conclusively about the season’s release until the showrunners announce the official release date. 

Shetland Season 7: What’s Next For Jimmy?

Throughout Shetland Season 6, Jimmy was torn apart by various challenges, including his father’s dementia, his attempt to solve the Galbraith murder. Meanwhile, convicted killer Donna Killick also returned to Shetland.

Jimmy was not in good space, having to cope with the death of his mother. At her funeral, he received word that local hot-shot lawyer Alex Galbraith had been killed cold-bloodedly outside his home. Meanwhile, the season six finale left viewers shocked, with Detective Jimmy Perez and his friend Duncan Hunter being accused of the murder of Donna Killick. 

In Shetland Season 6 finale, fans learned that DI Jimmy Perez‘s devoted, whip-smart second-in-command, Tosh, is expecting her first child. She was dealing with doubts about becoming a mother in the near future earlier in the season. She was also facing a dilemma between her career and becoming a mother.

Then Tosh bought a pregnancy test kit after noticing that her sense of smell had become heightened. Her surprised face slowly broke into a grin as she checked the results, which confirmed her pregnancy. Now in Shetland Season 7, fans will see the aftermaths of the season 6 finale. And in that, Jimmy will have to prove his innocence in the next season.

It’s been more than seven years since Architect Ted Mosby finally wrapped up his story. For ten seasons, he rambled on the longest story of meeting his children’s mother in the CBS hit comedy-drama series How I Met Your mother. And along the way, all fell in love with Ted and his gang of friends. And finally, after several years, showrunners are bringing another similar story but from a different perspective. Many don’t know that, How I Met Your Father is not the first spinoff of HIMYM. In 2014 CBS planned another spinoff for its hit sitcom. It was titled How I Met Your Dad, and it even shot a pilot episode. But, unfortunately, things didn’t work out very well. And viewers never got to see the show. 

How I Met Your Father: Release Date

In April 2021, after several years of wait, showrunners finally confirmed that they are working on the HIMYM spinoff series named How I Met Your Father. The first season of the sitcom drama will have a total of 10 episodes. And it will be released on Hulu. 

Hulu announced How I Met Your Father’s release date two weeks ago, on November 18. The announcement came in the form of a special video featuring the series cast in the video shared on YouTube. Viewers saw the cast making the announcement with the legendary dialogue, ‘Wait for it’ before finally announcing the premiere date.

How I Met Your Father will premiere on Hulu on January 18, 2022. The show began production on September 1, as confirmed by Hilary Duff herself. She is all set to portray the show’s lead Sophie in the upcoming sitcom drama.

How I Met Your Father: Brand New Cast Roaster

One of the main reasons behind HIMYM’s immense success is the brilliant performance put forward by actors like Josh Radnor and Neil Patrick Harris. Thus, How I Met Your Father Cast has some really big shoes to fill.

We know that Hilary Duff will play the series lead Sophie, who tells the story to her kids. However, older Sophie’s voice will be given by Kim Cattrall. While the critics had mixed reviews towards the sci-fi drama. Nonetheless, it still managed to impress fans with its intriguing plot. The show attracted a large viewership as it progressed into later episodes of the first season. And now many are wondering about when and if there will be La Brea Season 2.

Is La Brea Season 2 Renewed?

Although the first season had just been completed, La Brea had already been renewed for a second season. As a result, the drama series will be getting further episodes. However, no official announcement from the creators has been made on when the second season will premiere. The second season will likely launch at the end of 2022 or as early as September, as the makers believe fall is a good time to release it.

La Brea Season 2: What’s Next?

In the first season of La Brea, a sinkhole at the La Brea Tar Pits and Wilshire Boulevard separates mother and son from father and daughter. Gavin and Izzy try their hardest to gather resources and bring Eve and Josh back after they descend into the depths of the ground.

Toward the end of the season, another possibility for the Harris family to reconcile presents itself, but it comes with a significant risk concerning a portal. Eve, on the other hand, is willing to go to any length. Gavin, Izzy, and Dr. Nathan, on the other hand, gave all they got all in a final rescue effort after it was reported that one more sinkhole would open up.

During Comicon’s special edition in November 2021, Showrunner David Appelbaum talked about the second season. He said that the Harris family would be separated in new and interesting ways. And the makers will put characters in different worlds moving into La Brea Season 2.

Further, he stated, “But also, we’re going to retain a lot of what we saw in Season 1.” But there are still going to be characters in the clearing trying to figure out how to survive down. He continued that the of the goals of the show for future installments is to expand its premise.

Nico Tortorella also discussed the show’s conclusion and what happened to Josh after it ended.
