As per the tweet, the streaming network requests the eager fans to keep a constant watch on Netflix’s social media for future announcements. The streaming network acted as a distributor in the first installment. Thus, Netflix might pick up the show and make it an original show. Unfortunately, it has been a long time since the series was canceled. Thus, the possibility of the show’s return falls with each passing day. Dare Me Season 2: Showrunner Abbott Sets Expectations For Another Season

Universal Content Productions still believes in the concept as they made an immediate announcement after the show’s cancellation on the USA Network. The production company revealed that they would take the murder mystery to another network. But sadly, none of them have picked up the series yet.  

As per the showrunner Abbott, they did not want to simplify things to make them more palatable. Instead, they wanted things to be messy and ugly as beauty relies upon the ugliness of these complicated emotions and feelings. They also aimed to separate the show from other high school dramas by creating a darker aspect and expressing the unsettling experiences of these young cheerleaders on big screens. The positive reviews have shown that the audiences are into darker shows, but the networks need a lot of convincing to invest their money and high stakes on an unconventional project. Thus, the future of Dare Me Season 2 still poses a big question mark about its return. 

As per Abbott, many stories are still to be uncovered as the first installment covered the first half of the novel. The second season will continue to draw inspiration from the source material if the show returns for a second season.

The biggest mystery that stood towards the end of the first installment was the identity of Sergeant Will’s killer. Will did not kill himself, and both Colette and her husband Matt had something to do with his death. However, what happened during the night of Will’s murder is the biggest question for Dare Me Season 2.

The police brought in Kurtz for questioning after he was seen fighting with Nick in CCTV footage. Moreover, Hanlon’s mother and Beth were suspicious about Hanlon being involved in the whole situation. Her Hamsa bracelet was also found at the crime scene. Thus, the cheerleader might be the one who knows what actually happened to Will. Moreover, the second installment might also focus on Hanlon and Colette’s troubling relationship. Thus, the second installment will be full of mystery, drama, and revelations if it returns in the future.

Who Could Be The Cast Next Season?

If the show is renewed, the lead cast members expected to return are Willa Fitzgerald as Coach Colette, Herizen Guardiola as Addy Hanlon, Marlo Kelly as Beth Cassidy, and Rob Heaps as Matt French. Moreover, Zach Roerig will not be returning as Sergeant Will Mosley, as he got killed in the first season. In addition, Paul Fitzgerald and Alison Thorton are also expected to join the cast.
