HBO’s comedy-drama series Insecure, created by Issa Rae and Larry Wilmore, returned for its fifth season in December. The story of two friends, Issa and Molly, trying to navigate their late twenties in Southern Los Angeles has been ruling fans’ hearts for five seasons. Now that the fifth season has been wrapped up, fans are buzzed about its return with Insecure Season 6. But is it really coming? Let’s find out.

The fifth season of Insecure premiered on HBO from October 24, 2021, to December 26, 2021. Meanwhile, talking about the Insecure Season 6, brace yourself for the sad news. As per the reports, the series has been wrapped up with the fifth installment, and Insecure Season 6 might never return.

The series creator Issa Rae has also clarified that the show has ended in the way she always planned. During a media conversation, she expressed her gratitude towards HBO for letting her tell the story. She also thanked the fans of the series who have showered so much love on Issa’s creation for all five seasons.  

Meanwhile, in another interview, Rae mentioned, “I just felt it from season one. I wanted a five-season show for this particular story. I’m a restless person. We’re going to be asking people to commit five years of their life to something. You kind of get restless after that fourth year, and I want to love these people. I want these people to still want to be on the show, from the writers to the actors to the crew.” 

Therefore, the official word is HBO’s Insecure has ended, and it is not returning for Insecure Season 6. However, fans will always cherish the countless funny moments it has given them. We can only hope for the series to return in some form, perhaps a spinoff !!! Who knows?

Cast Details!

The main cast of HBO’s comedy-drama series Insecure features Issa Rae in the role of the lively Issa Dee, Yvonne Orji appears as Issa’s old friend Molly, Jay Ellis plays Martin Lawrence Walker. The show also features Natasha Rothwell as Kelli Neil Brown as Chad, while Alexander Hodge appears as Andrew, who is dating Molly.

There is no shortage of quirky characters that give plenty of moments to laugh aloud on HBO’s Insecure. However, when asked about the funniest character in the series, most fans will unanimously agree on the main character in the series, i.e., Issa. Her clumsy moments present the show have given fans countless funny moments. Issa is funny when she tries to be but even funnier when she doesn’t.

Issa’s raps are perhaps the source of her most hilarious moments. Her inner battle is shown as she screams rhymes about her life about herself in the mirror. The calamity burned away the gas and killed some members of the species.

The team also discovered that the species used complex hydrocarbon compounds to communicate with their emotions. Burnham deduced that they might be able to use the hydrocarbons to communicate with Species 10C. Elsewhere, Book and Tarka followed the Discovery to the dead planet and sneaked on the ship. Tarka bypassed Zora’s sensor to attach their ship to Discovery without getting detected. Book had to take engineer Jett Reno as a hostage. He also convinced Ndoye to help them destroy the DMA in Star Trek Discovery Season 4 Episode 11.

Mello met with Louie and Jerome and informed them that Skully planned to kill them after the next deal. Mello offered to pay a couple of thousand dollars extra per key and accept their prices in exchange for them killing Skully.

Louie And Jerome Make A Scapegoat Out Of Mello

Louie demanded $100000 for the hit. They jumped on Skully at his psychic’s place in Snowfall Season 5 Episode 3. He went there to talk to his dead daughter on her birthday. Mello gave them the money as the duo handed over Skully’s necklace to him. However, Louie and Jerome did not kill Skully. They portrayed him as a snake in Skully’s group. Moreover, Louie told Skully that they came clean to him because he did not kill them at the hospital. Skully appreciated them for their loyalty and agreed to pay the original price for cocaine. He also asked the duo to keep Mello’s money while he was taken away by Skully’s henchmen.

After dealing with Skully, Louie had to bear with corrupt and creepy narcotics detective Buckley. He demanded intel so he could make some arrests and impress his superiors. However, she had nothing to give him as Skully had already taken care of Mello. Franklin appreciated handling Skully, but he was mad at them too for going rogue. He then revealed that Teddy thought the price was not the problem. Louie and Jerome trying to be their own bosses was the issue. However, Louie and Jerome chose to stay quiet, knowing some crucial facts that Franklin was unaware of in Snowfall Season 5 Episode 3.

Meanwhile, in regard to gen:LOCK Season 3, the show has not been renewed yet by the streaming wing of HBO. But looking at how well the show has performed in terms of viewership and fan response, we have a reason to be optimistic about the possibility of gen:LOCK Season 3. 

However, even if the series is renewed by the platform, do not expect it so soon. There was a long gap of over three years between the first two seasons of the series. Hence, it is chance gen:LOCK Season 3 might also take longer than usual to make its way to our screens.

Voice Cast Of gen:LOCK Season 3!

The voice cast of the animated series is led by Michael B. Jordan, as Julian Chase, a Vanguard pilot commanding from Brooklyn. Then we have GOT famed Maisie Williams voicing Cameron ‘Cammie’ MacCloud, and Kōichi Yamadera has given his voice to Kazu Iida. In addition, we have heard Golshifteh Farahani lending voice to Yasamin ‘Yaz’ Madrani, Asia Kate Dillon as the voice of Valentina ‘Val’ Romanyszyn.

Meanwhile, other voice cast members include Shari Belafonte as Roberta Chase, Lara Toner Haddock voicing Patricia Bartlet-Young, Anisha Nagarajan as Dr. Fatima Jha, Lawrence Sonntag as ABLE, among several others. And if the series finds its way to gen:LOCK Season 3, most of the prominent voice cast members will be back to lend voice to their characters in the third season. In addition, season 3 might also introduce the audience to some new characters voiced by other performers.
