Netflix has set Aggretsuko, the famous Japanese animated series for a Christmas release. The streaming giant announced the release schedule of Aggretsuko Season 4 at the TUDUM Global Live Fan Event in late September. The previous season aired in August 2020. The series follows a 25-year- old humanlike red panda who struggles with her accounting job in a trading company based in Tokyo. The series is set in Retsuko’s fifth year working at the firm. Besides them, the third run will also see Emma Paetz as Martha Kane. Other recurring characters include Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Ryan Fletcher as Wallace “Daveboy” McDougal, and Dorothy Atkinson as Mary Pennyworth. Ramon Tikaram as Det. Inspector Aziz will return with Harriet Slater as Sandra Onslow and Simon Manyonda as Lucius Fox.

The last season explored many characters’ story arcs in a highly different direction. Mrs. Pennyworth finally learns in the finale that her husband is alive. Dong-hyuk told The Hollywood Reporter that he’s exhilarated about the show’s success. However, he’s amazed to see that it actually happened to a director like him (calling himself amateur). Dong-hyuk continued that it’s been a complex experience- emotionally as well as memory-wise. As of the show, Dong-hyuk wrote the show over a decade ago. But as he didn’t find the right production company at that time, he instead focused on his movie projects.

Further, Dong-hyuk said that he was at his lowest point in life when he penned down the first episode. It took almost six months to write a single episode, and he often reviewed and edited it several times. A lot of hardship had deep-rooted in this show.
