According to the recent images, season 5 is set to recreate Charles and Diana’s 10th anniversary trip to Italy with their sons in 1991. Further, the couple took this trip a year before they announced their separation in 1992.

The recent images are from the filming, taking place in Palma De Mallorca on the Christina O yacht. The yacht was owned by Jackie Kennedy and Aristotle Onassis. Although, the original yacht that Charles and Diana traveled on was the Alexander yacht. The recent images also revealed the fashion inspiration of the characters. For instance, Princess Diana’s attire is inspired by the couple’s visit to the Universal Exposition of Seville. CBS has revealed a short promo and the official synopsis for the third episode titled “27 David.” In episode 2 of SWAT Season 5, the team discovers that some stolen architectural drawings can pose a significant threat to the city. This happens after a robbery crew makes their move at the iconic downtown Los Angeles library.

So, Hondo and the squad will be busy dealing with the aftermath of the robbery in the upcoming episode. We will see them do all they can to locate these robbers and get hold of these critical drawings. Moreover, the forthcoming episode will mark the arrival of a new leader, Rodrigo Sanchez. He is a longtime LAPD veteran and former SWAT member.

The promo introduces the new leader of the 20 Squad, Sanchez. He is arrogant, self-centered, and always wants credit. We also see Hondo admitting to the squad that he is suspicious of Sanchez. Thus, we are about to see some heat between Hondo and Sanchez in the third episode of SWAT Season 5.

The second episode of SWAT Season 5 began with the return of Dominique Luca and Christina Alonso after spending three months in Germany. Meanwhile, in Mexico, a local cop Charro follows Hondo to rescue Delfina from the grips of a landgrabber Arthur Novak. AJ and Arthur threatened Delfina to convince her mother to sell the land. But, she tells them that her mother will never sell, no matter what. Next, Charro and Hondo corner drunk Gabriel and confronted him about Delfina’s situation in the second episode of SWAT Season 5. He tells them how AJ and Novak are torturing Delfina.

Further, Gabriel also tells them that Novak killed Miguel after discovering the silver on the land. Finally, Gabriel confirms Miguel’s death by showing Hondo the hammer used to kill him. When Charro takes the hammer to his boss, he is disgusted by his boss’s reaction, who did not give him an arrest warrant. 

Hondo Rescues Delfina And Returns To LA

Meanwhile, in the second episode, the 20 Squad was about to split up in the absence of Hondo. Gabriel fooled the guard and sent them away from the compound. Meanwhile, Hondo and Charro try to cover them while they escape. However, AJ finds them and kills Gabriel. While he was about to stab Delfina, Hondo shot him dead. Novak found his dead body and looked around the compound to search for Delfina and Hondo. 

After rescuing Delfina, Novak hired a team of assassins to kill Hondo. However, Hondo managed to kill them all, as Delfina is happy to see the workers back. Meanwhile, the 20 Squad was on a small mission. After the mission, Deacon tells them that there is no squad without Hondo. The next moment Hondo walked in, saying it was time to get back to work.

Well, Ruth had spent years assisting Byrdes with their businesses. But over time, she started feeling that Byrdes wasn’t considering her efforts. She even continued to work with Byrdes. Even when they failed to take her revenge against Frank Cosgrove Jr., who assaulted her. However, the complete blowout for Ruth occurred when Marty and Wendy had planned his boyfriend, Ben, death. It ultimately left her devastated.

It perhaps hints that Ruth will walk alone on her path while taking her revenge against the Byrde for plotting against Ben. Well, she joined forces with Darlene Snell in the last season, who’s trying to take down Byrdes for destroying her empire. After Ben’s death, Ruth finds comfort in Darlene and her cousin Wyatt’s arms. Although they joined forces in the last season, Darlene and Wyatt’s controversial relationship will change everything. Ruth wanted Wyatt to stay away from that lady as she believes Darlene was old enough to become his grandmother. So, perhaps killing her could be the only way to save Wyatt from this relationship. Thus, the falling man probably is Darlene, whom Ruth will push from the barn window.

Meanwhile, she’ll fight with her dilemma to select whether she wants to stay in Canada or return to Gilead to topple with the odds.

Serena Will Try To Change

During an interview with Deadline, Yvonne Strahovski hinted at her character development in the fifth run. She said that she had no clue whether she would stay in Canada and continue her life in prison or return to Gilead. However, she believes Serena will move forward when she’s carrying a child. The series has seen her desperation to become a mother and how far she went through to torture June for this.

But in the fourth run, she finally realized her mistakes. She even apologized to June for everything she did. But June was filled with rage, so she didn’t show any mercy to Serena and her husband. Now, Serena recognizes her emotions and will try to fight back with her trauma before giving birth to her child. However, whether she will live in freedom in Canada or return to Gilead to continue Fred’s legacy remains unclear.

The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5: When Will It Return?

As of now, the show is in its pre-production phase. And, the showrunner hasn’t confirmed when filming will begin. But deeming the stars’ conflicting schedule, it seems it would take quite a long time to go back to filming.
