The first season of What If is yet to conclude on Disney+, but there is already a solid hype around What If Season 2. It is certainly one of the most intriguing animated series of Marvel so far, which explores the events that happen in the alternate timeline of the universe. Brad Winderbaum recently hinted at the release date of the show’s second season and what to expect from it. So, when will it come out? Here is everything to know.

What If…? is an American action-adventure anthology animated TV series. It is an adaptation of Marvel’s comic series of the same title. It is Marvel Studios’ first animated and fourth overall series. The inaugural season of this show premiered on August 11, 2021. At the time of writing, three episodes have been released. And the series is set to run for nine-episode, which will conclude on October 6, 2021. 

What If Season 2: Renewal Status

What If…? was ordered under the fourth phase of the MCU. It quickly managed to hook the viewers into its intriguing storyline. Every single episode explores a different timeline and left the viewers wondering about the next one. MCU already knew that this show would perform well, and hence they already renewed What If Season 2 in advance.

The second season will also come up with nine episodes, and the great thing is that it will include movies and series from Phase Four as well. So, there is a possibility that in the future, it might explore the alternate timelines of Shang Chi and Marvel’s Eternals as well. Therefore, the second season will arrive with the possibility to explore a lot more characters and storylines. 

What To Expect From The Sequel?

ScreenRant recently had a chat with Kevin Fiege, where he talked about the future of this intriguing animated series. He was asked about how the second season will explore the multiverse of Phase Four. To this question, Fiege replied, “That’s the amusing thing about having the What If…? series now. We can search questions just like that, and I will say, just as the first season is drawing into films and storylines from the MCU that you’ve witnessed up to this point, What If Season 2 will surely include movies from Phase Four.”

It is also likely that the fans will see more of Peggy Carter/Captain Carter in future episodes. She is set to become a prominent character in the animated series. Marvel Studios is yet to clarify whether the show will only feature separate one-off stories or will join it together in the end to form a wider narrative. 

What If Season 2: Release Date

The producer of What If, David Winderbaum, recently had an interview with Collider in which he talked about the arrival of the second season. During the chat, he revealed that they renewed this show animating the show takes a long time. So, with this early renewal, they are expecting that What If Season 2 might come out in 2022. However, he also added that he wouldn’t like to predict the future, but their intention is to release this show annually.

While the creator Nic Pizzolatto discussed the possibility to return with True Detective Season 4 earlier in 2019, it still remains a mystery whether season 4 is actually happening? The gritty crime series delighted the fans when it debuted back in 2014. It follows the anthology-style featuring the stellar talents in every season.

The first season explored Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey’s triumph performance. While the second run starred Colin Farrell, Taylor Kitsch, and Rachel McAdams, who unearth the mystery behind the corrupt politician murder. However, it took almost four months to come back with the third run starring two-time Oscar winner Mahershala Ali. He played Arkansas State Police detective who tries to solve a cold murder case. And despite the talk of making season 4, its faith remains uncertain after the creator left HBO. So now, let’s see whether it could happen or not.

True Detective Season 4: Will It Ever Happen?

Deadline reported in February 2021 that Casey Bloys, the chief content officer of HBO and HBO Max, was looking forward to bring True Detective Season 4. Casey told Deadline that the network was collaborating with some writers who can bring the show back to life. However, if HBO failed to find the right and fine quality script, season 4 won’t happen. So, although the network showed their interest in the show, yet they haven’t renewed it.

So far, the series has gained enormous popularity and earned 8 million viewers an episode. Thus there’s no doubt that the network will likely continue with True Detective. Moreover, soon after the third season’s release, Casey seemed delighted by how Nic hiked the excitement level in every season. But despite these reviews, the fate of the series still remains up in the air.

Euphoria Creators Onboard

Nic Pizzalatto wrote the first three seasons of the show and was the creator of the series. Although he cited in 2019 that he is looking forward to returning with the fourth run, Nic left HBO after signing a deal with FX. In the interview, Nic also mentioned that he has already mapped the fourth season ahead of the premiere of the third run. But his first-look deal with FX resulted in his departure from the series.

Further, as reported by Deadline, Casey and HBO are possibly seeking new talents to craft the fourth run. As per the rumors, Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and Lucia Puenzo, who is co-creator of Cromo (Argentine eco-crime drama), would replace Nic. Well, Casey has already hinted that they have ordered a couple of writers to pen down the fourth run. So it could be possible that they could be amongst the group of writers who HBO and Casey considered.

Will It Continue Without Nic Pizzolatto?

There is speculation that Nic might not return as the series creator of the show after his deal with FX. But there’s a slight chance that he could return. Recently The Hollywood Reporter stated that Nic has been looking for a way to negotiate an early exit from FX’s first-look deal.

Well, it could be a great sign that would mark his return to the fourth run. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly in 2019, Nic teased that the fourth run would bring a crazier element to remodel the structure. Thus if he returns, possibly it could delve into the challenging and wild side, which he teased.

The third season of the supernatural drama concluded earlier this year, and the finale hinted that the tone of this show would get slightly darker in the forthcoming season. As previously mentioned, Omono Okojie has become the newest series regular, and that means the fans will see her character, Cleo, more often in Legacies Season 4. Cleo is a witch who joined the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. However, she was revealed to be a muse, and soon the series shed light on her ultimate mission. Production for the second season began in November 2019, but due to the surge of COVID-19, it soon got halted in March 2020. However, speaking with Entertainment Weekly in February 2021, Tamzin confirmed that five out of eight episodes have already been wrapped up. Soon after a long hiatus, the production had resumed in early May 2021 in the Czech Republic. Meanwhile, Orlando finally returned to film his scenes. As he was on break due to his first child with Katy Perry.

On August 7, Cara shared some behind-the-scenes pictures teasing that production for Carnival Row is still underway. First, she took to Instagram to show her pert posterior with a matching harness. Then, soon after this post, she shared a set of pictures from her trailer hinting that Vignette might lose her wings in season 2. Well, her other photo with the yellow baton seems like she’s enjoying filming her scenes. However, it remains unclear how long it would take to wrap up filming.

As reported, Magnum P.I Season 4 will return just four months after the third season wrapped up airing on the network. Instead of following 20 episode counts, the third season was cut short to 16 episodes due to the pandemic. In the sixth episode of Evil Season 2, the viewers saw Jim Turley, who is a police officer, chasing a car. He asked the driver to show her hands, but when she reached out her hand, he shot her. The matter became more complex than it looks because the victim was a Black woman and Turley is a white cop.

Turley blamed everything on an evil spirit. As a result, Ben, Mike, and Kristen arrived on the scene to investigate and find out the reality. The second half of this episode also dealt with Kristen’s guilt of killing Orson Leroux and Shakir’s hallucinations.
