Rose star Jamie King has recently revealed the future of Black Summer Season 3 and how things would tie up at the end of this zombie apocalypse drama. The second season dropped in June 2021, and it didn’t take much time to become one of the most-watched shows on Netflix. Although the cliffhanger finale left many characters’ fates in limbo, Netflix has yet to announce the future of this series.

Based on Craig Engler and Karl Schaefer’s Z Nation, Black Summer follows six weeks after the zombie apocalypse hit the world. However, in the middle of this, Rose and Anna, a mother-daughter, get separated. So soon, Rose embarks on a dangerous mission to find her daughter. In her journey, she finds help from a hostile group and makes rivals during this process.

Black Summer Season 3: Has It Renewed Yet?

It has been over a month since Black Summer Season 2 hit Netflix. However, the streamer hasn’t yet announced whether the series would receive another season. Typically, the series’ fate depends on the viewership and the second season viewership numbers have yet to disclose. However, to your surprise, season 2 earned a rare 100% positive response on Rotten Tomatoes.

Further, as per FlixPatrol, the action drama faded out from the world’s top 10 charts relatively quickly. In the US, the show remains in the top 10 for at least 12 days, while it remains in the top 10 for around 14 days in the UK. However, most of the show’s cancelation boiled down to stay in the top 10s globally for 30 days. Thus anything could happen at this moment.

Is It The End?

In a recent interview, Jamie King teased the future of the show. She said Black Summer is a kind of show which could run forever. But she believes that they would be wrapping the story in the third run. Well, the series serves as the prequel to Z Nation. So if Netflix renews it for the next chapter, it would help them reach closer to its parent series. Thus, they could bridge the gap between the two shows by bringing plenty of crossovers.

Black Summer Season 3: What To Expect From The Next Run?

Although the plot details have yet to reveal, King recently teased that the upcoming season would center on different chapters. It would explore three other characters’ story arcs which are currently in different places struggling to survive. However, she said it probably just sketches, so it’s pretty early to say anything. In the finale, Rose’s injured leg stopped her from boarding the plane, and she is left alone to die and see her daughter leaving her once again.

However, Anna decided to return to Rose and find a car to drive away from the place. But Anna looked a bit troubled, questioning what would be her next move. Well, the apocalypse has left a dramatic impact on her mental health. Though she couldn’t leave her mother to die yet, she saw how Rose left Spears to die, which would bring plenty of troubling thoughts.

Is Sun Out Of Danger Now?

Well, out of all the survivors, only Sun makes it to the plane, and after a brief conversation with the pilot, both traveled to an unknown land. All we know currently is that pilot has to stop somewhere to refuel the plane. But it’s entirely possible that they probably won’t take off again, leaving both Sun and the pilot fate up in the air. Thus, they might explore a new life in a barren land away from the zombie’s hordes.

Black Summer Season 3: When To Expect?

The second season took two years to land on Netflix. Howbeit the pandemic made it challenging to film during that time. But, if the third season follows the same timeframe, then chances are high that Black Summer Season 3 would air sometime in 2023.

The second season of Netflix crime drama series Mindhunter dropped back in 2019. However, since then, fans have been waiting to hear about Mindhunter Season 3. But to our surprise, the series executive producer David Fincher has been recently spotted discussing the future of Mindhunter with Netflix. Based on John Douglas and Mark Olshaker’s 1995 crime book titled Mindhunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit, it revolves around the FBI agents Holden Ford and Bill Tench along with psychologist Wendy Carr. The trio operates a research project where they interview serial killers and try to learn their psychology to apply it to solve other mysterious and dangerous cases.

Mindhunter Season 3: Is It Renewed?

Smart Screen recently reported that the executive producer David Fincher has been in talks with Netflix regarding the renewal of the third season. Back in January 2020, the news came off that David was focusing on new projects. He was producing Love, Death, and Robots Season 2 while directing Netflix’s first film Mank. Thus, it became quite complicated to make Mindhunter Season 3 at that time.

He asked actors to meantime explore the other projects while he’s busy with his own. However, a couple of years later, David finally discussed with Netflix to return with the most-anticipated third season. As of now, it is currently in its early stage, but David sounds more cheerful than ever. Unfortunately, however, Netflix is yet to announce the renewal of the third season. But, the doors for Mindhunter haven’t officially closed either, so hopefully, soon David could return with the next run.

Well, the crime drama received positive reviews from critics as well as fans. While the first season earned 97% positive responses on Rotten Tomatoes and 79% on Metacritic. The second season garnered 98% response on Rotten Tomatoes, and 85% on Metacritic. This hype in ratings itself hints at the possibility of its return. Furthermore, the series gained ten Academy Awards nominations to date.

Holt McCallany Seems Hopeful To Return

Speaking with Pop Culture, Holt said that he is hopeful of returning with the third run. Even, he said seeing fans’ response, it feels like the show could run for five seasons. Howbeit we know that the streaming platform isn’t afraid to scrap the big titles. Yet canning the series like this could be dangerous for the streamer. But, David already confirmed that he wished to revisit the show sometime in the future. Thus, it implies that sooner or later, season 3 would renew.

He stated, “Winston Graham had left a lot of hints in book eight about incidents which had occurred in those intervening years, but he discloses little away about how Ross got that transformation.” She even said that she is looking for the opportunity to make the sixth season.

Debbie is certainly interested in continuing the story of Aidan Turner, but she might not get a chance. However, Turner is pretty confident that they completed the series and that too in a good way. They resolved most of the storylines, and they are satisfied with the ending they get.

We can safely say that Larry David would return to play his fictional version without any second thought. Besides him, his on-screen wife Cheryl Hines as Cheryl will return. Jeff Garlin as best friend and manager Jeff Greene will also join. J.B. Smoove as Larry’s housemate and friend Leon Black and Susie Essman as Jeff’s wife Susie will also return.

Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 11: When Will It Release?

A year after the series was renewed, Stankey confirmed that Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 11 will return during the year’s second quarter. Even Stankey stated that their end-of-the-year lineup is stronger, including Succession, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Raised by Wolves, and Love Life.
