Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Season 2: Back in February 2019, the creators had announced that they would be working on the eighth volume of the Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon manga series with a wraparound jacket band. In June 2019, the news surfaced that the studio will be returning for Dragon Maid Season 2. And it was speculated that it will be announced in a stage even that would be scheduled in November 2019. kViN from Sakuga Blog had tweeted back in the time that he hopes that the studio moves forward with the anime despite the fact that Takemoto is no longer with them. 

This 2017 anime- Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid was led by Kyoto Animation director Yasuhiro Takemoto. We lost the man in the deadly Kyoto Animation fire that happened in 2019. Another man- Shiho Morisaki, a 27-year-old who worked on the anime, also lost his life in the fire. 

Recently a new report from Ryokutya837 revealed that Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Season 2 is officially under productions and will hit our screens sometime in 2021. This is the happy news we were all waiting for. However, we don’t yet know about the exact release date for the anime, but we do know something. Here is what we know-

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Season 2 will indeed be a dark chapter in this anime series. There will be new dragons and some comedy moments. There will also be a number of dark stories and characters coming up. We can expect the show to open with a landslide. This has destroyed the place where Kobayashi and Tohru had met for the first time. After this event, Tohru knows that this isn’t a natural thing given that she had put a barrier to preserve the spot till eternity. So, she will embark on a journey to find out the culprit. After this, we might get to meet the antagonist of the series- Iruru, who desires the destruction of the world and has been observing Tohru as her first target. 

Who Is Iruru?

Iruru is the new dragon in the series who would not mind fighting dirty and targets the human city. For all of her life, Iruru has been told that humans were her enemy. It is Tohru’s concern for the humans that makes Iruru want to know more about humanity too. We can expect to see Iruru’s story arc, focusing mainly on explaining Iruru’s hatred for humanity. She thinks that Kobayashi’s kindness is tricky, and the only choice all of them have is a war. Iruru has an excellent reason for hating all humans.

When Iruru was a child, she used to play with humans in a different world, but then humans invaded dragons’ land. This meant that humans were the reason why Iruru lost her parents, and now she has all the hate for the humankind.

Another Dragon Cremene Will Be A Part Of The Show

We will get to see another harmony faction dragon called Cremene in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Season 2. She is the Slaughterer who is obsessed with clearing out the world from everything she thinks is evil. The dragon will act like a judge, a jury, and also an executioner. She will try to kill Iruru but will be saved when Kobayashi interferes while Tohru fights Cremene. 

Later on, in the show, we can assume that once all details about Iruru are out and her storyline has been played out, things might get a bit relaxed. The first season of the series had hinted to a future hot spring that would take up Chapter 33. This chapter has all the characters stripping naked. In the manga, Tohru was shown topless, but in the anime version, it is possible that it would not be so explicitly sexual. They together started tackling everything and grow close to each other.

Moreover, Maui teaches Moana about how to regain control of her own powers. Furthermore, everything falls at their place. Te Fiti goes to sleep and becomes a mountain. Netflix’s Head Has Explained The Reason

Cindy Holland, Netflix’s head of original content, explained the streamer’s decision to cancel the show. Cindy stated, “It’s a combination of things,” when they decided to invest in something they consider the audience preference. However, it comes as the audience wasn’t looking to see more from Patty. Cindy added: “Obviously, critical acclaim is important,” but they are still trying to stretch their franchise more. However, considering the audience’s response, it doesn’t seem easy to push it.

Alyssa Milano Shared Her Disappointment

Insatiable star Alyssa seems quite upset about the cancelation of the show. Soon after the news came up, Alyssa tweeted that it’s unbelievable that Netflix has decided to wrap up Insatiable after two seasons. She went on saying that both the seasons are still streaming on Netflix. But it’s sad to know that they will never be able to know who Coralee’s baby’s daddy is. Alyssa also thanked her fans for their supports.

Will They Be Able To Land On Another Platform?

Well, Alyssa’s post is pointing towards returning to another platform. However, it seems complicated for them to continue their story on another platform. Insatiable started on The CW first, and it has been saved before. According to Netflix’s guidelines, any outside show can’t stream on other platforms until they complete two to three years on the streamer. So, it seems Insatiable Season 3’s fate is in danger.

Audience Signed Petition To Cancel The Show

It’s something that doesn’t often happen as the audience has decided to cancel the show. An online petition of more than 230,000 signatures signed to cancel the show. According to the audience, the show causes eating disorders and influences people to follow Patty’s path, which is not the right thing. However, Ryan believed that this subject needs to address as many people out there are dealing with such problems.

Ryan further cleared that their motive was to show people how an eating disorder can affect a person’s life. They want proper justice for them. She added that the show’s message was not to polish or give time to improve your imperfection but to accept the way you are. However, it seems people haven’t understood the meaning of the show.

United We Fall Season 2: Is It Renewed?

Unfortunately, ABC has recently canceled United We Fall Season 2 just after airing one season. It was first announced as ABC’s primetime part. Sony Pictures Television Has Turned Their Back

United We Fall was produced by ABC Studios and Sony Pictures Television that ran till August 26, 2020. Despite its fantastic start, ABC has decided to remove the show from its future lineup. One such reason for this cancelation is because Sony TV has turned their back to produce comedy series on the network. Sony TV would not make any comedy series on ABC. So, it’s one of the reasons why United We Fall Season 2 has been canceled.

One more reason behind this decision is the drop-in financial model of ABC. Not only Sony TV but Lionsgate TV has also decided to stop selling its comedy series on ABC. However, both the studios are looking for a better solution. Further, we heard straight from the horse mouth that Lionsgate TV has discussed with Disney’s ABC to develop a more financially stable business model. If ABC fails to do that, then we believe more shows would say a final goodbye to the network.

Is There Any Chance Of United We Fall Season 2?

Well, currently, it looks like the show has been sandwiched between the independent studio’s Sony TV and broadcasting network ABC’s financial dispute. However, if Sony Pictures Television wants to bring back another season, we can expect the second season to return once again. But, now everything is in Sony TV’s hands.
